The NMS International Swim Team
Award Guidelines

General

To be considered for an NMS Award the swimmer must compete
in at least four European Forces Swim League (EFSL) swim meets
(with the exception of President's Awards).

Only performances in NATO Marlins officially scheduled swim meets up to and including the EFSL Divisionals are considered.

No swimmer will receive more than one award,
with the exception of the Team Leadership Awards.

Categories

The NMS Excellence Performance Award

An NMS Excellence Performance Award is awarded to swimmers
who brought in the most individual points for the team in their age group
over the course of our swim meet calendar, having competed
in at least four European Forces Swim League (EFSL) swim meets.

The NMS Time Slasher Award

An NMS Time Slasher Award is awarded to swimmers
who in the course of the season competed
in at least four European Forces Swim League (EFSL) swim meets
and did improve their total times, across all events, the greatest amount.

The NMS Coaches Award

A NMS Coaches Award is awarded to swimmers who are dedicated, committed, and enthusiastic about swimming. Such swimmers rarely misses practice, were on time for practice, participated in warm-ups and cool-down exercises. In essence, these swimmers practice and swim with motivation, listen to their coaches, behave, and treat their team mates with respect. They swim to work hard, listen, learn and progress. At competitions, they participated in all possible events for their age group and participated in at least four EFSL competitions during the season.
Recipients were selected by a consensus of the coaches.
To ensure fairness to the swimmers, every Coach was requested to complete a spreadsheet identifying all the selection criteria. The results were discussed among all coaches before the selection was complete.

The NMS President's Award

An NMS President´s Award is awarded to swimmers who have shown a commitment to the team. They are the foundation of which our team will continue to grow. During the year, they learned that to grow as an individual they competed against themselves, improving day after day, and meeting each new goal. Each of these awardees did show the determination required to rise to new levels during each competition.

The NMS Team Leadership Award

A NMS Team Leadership Award is awarded to swimmers who best display the qualities of athletic leadership, regardless of swimming ability, gender or age; rather it is based on performance as a role model for other swimmers and a representative of our team to other teams.
They took charge of the team during practices, meets, bus rides and made sound decisions when necessary. They are an inspiration, earning the trust and respect of fellow team members, coaches and parents. They exemplify good sportsmanship, honour, integrity and commitment to our team.
These swimmers, who competed
in at least four European Forces Swim League (EFSL) swim meets,
were selected by a committee consisting of inputs from team parents,
team coaches and the president.
